The majority of Hyperion Planning users are planners who are responsible for department or project budgets. They conveniently work over the Web or the Spreadsheet Add-in to:

In Business Rules use a global variable.

In Essbase, use a substitution variable.

When launched, a business rule can prompt you to enter variable information, called a runtime

prompt. The business rule designer sets up runtime prompts.

If a business rule has a runtime prompt and Use Members on Forms is selected, the default

member on the runtime prompt window matches the current member in the page or POV

axes of the open data form.

After you establish or update user and group security, the Planning application needs to be

refreshed to complete the update to Analytic Services security filters.

A: Usage of dynamic calc in sparse dimension includes benefits such as shorter aggregations smaller database size.

C: Consider the number of members underneath a sparse parent. It's generally good practice to have few (up to 20) members under dynamic sparse parents if your block size is not massively huge. This number might increase if your block size is tiny.

A: To add supporting detail that calculates values in a data form:

1 Open a data form in Excel,

2 In the data form, select the data cells for which you want to add detail.

3 Select Hyperion > Supporting Detail. For Office 2007, click Supporting Detail in the Task section of the Hyperion ribbon.

4 Etc.

7. Enter data for the items for which you want to set or calculate values.

When you enter numbers into the Supporting Detail window, use the scaling that was set up for

the data values in the data form.

8 Click OK.

Values are dynamically calculated and aggregated before the data is saved.

C: Supporting detail can include text, values, and operators that define how data aggregates.

Supporting detail also provides a way to drill down into data to better understand its basis. For

example, if the bottom-level member in your outline is pens, you can add line items in supporting

detail for ballpoint, fountain, marker, and so on. Then you can aggregate the detail values to the

pen member in the outline.

D: Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook),  are some of the various Oracle tools that enable users to interact with an Oracle Essbase application.

Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office (Smart View) is a component of Hyperion Foundation Services. Smart View provides a common Microsoft Office interface designed specifically for Oracle's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Business Intelligence (BI). Using Smart View, you can view, import, manipulate, distribute and share data in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint interfaces. It is a comprehensive tool for accessing and integrating EPM and BI content from Microsoft Office products.

To create and change attributes, attribute values, and aliases:

1 Select Administration, then Dimensions.

2 Select a sparse dimension for which to define an attribute, attribute value, or alias.

Only sparse dimensions can contain attributes.

3 Select the top level in the dimension hierarchy, and click Edit.

4 In the Dimension Properties dialog box, click Custom Attributes.

5 Select options.

5.1 To create attributes, click Create. Type an attribute name, and select a data type: Text,

Date, Boolean, or Numeric.

5.2 To modify attributes, click Modify, and update the attribute name.

5.3 To set aliases for attributes, select an attribute and an attribute value, click Alias. Select an

alias table, type an alias name, and click Close.

6 Click Close.

When you click Close, the hierarchy is validated and an error displays if issues are detected.

7 Update and validate business rules and reports.

B: Attributes can have data types of text, date, Boolean, and numeric.

E: An attribute dimension is a special type of dimension that is associated with a standard dimension. A standard dimension is any dimension that is not an attribute dimension. When an attribute dimension is associated with a standard dimension, the standard dimension is the base dimension for that attribute dimension. I

Grid spread allocates data across the cells on the webform and runs on the client browser. Mass allocate triggers a calc script which can allocate data beyond cells those are available in the form.

If your administrator has enabled   Grid Spread   as a data form property, you can specify an amount or percentage by which Planning increases or decreases values across multiple dimensions on the data form, based on the existing values in the target cells. You immediately see the result in the data form and can save the new data or discard it. When calculating the spread data, Planning ignores read-only and locked cells and cells having supporting detail. Data integrity is ensured by spreading values only to cells to which you have access.

If you have the Mass Allocate role (assigned in Oracle's Hyperion® Shared Services) and an administrator has enabled  Mass Allocate  as the data form property, you can spread data using the powerful feature, Mass Allocate, which:

Allocates data to all the source cell's descendants

Allocates across multiple dimensions

Spreads data even to cells not displayed on the data form

Does not require that you have access to the target cells

Cannot be undone after you mass allocate values

Is processed with dynamically-created calc scripts

Executes the calc scripts against the Essbase server, against all dimension combinations

Can use customized spreading patterns , created by an administrator (see the  Oracle Hyperion Planning Administrator’s Online Help )

A: In all Planning Units states except the Not Started state, users with read access can view data, view the process state, view the history, and read and enter annotations.

E: The Administrator have full access.
