To create a new NSR Client " ABC 123 " and PSS file system backup save sets /data01 and /data02, and a skip files directive named " Skip GO " for * .go extensions anywhere under /data02, the administrator can use the Networker CLI (Command Line Interface) to access the Networker server and create the NSR Client, PSS file system backup save sets, and skip files directive. Here are the steps:

Log in to the Networker CLI by entering the following command:

nsr_client -C ABC 123

Once logged in, create a new PSS file system backup save set for /data01 by running the following command:

savefs -p -s /data01

Create a new PSS file system backup save set for /data02 by running the following command:

savefs -p -s /data02

Create a skip files directive named " Skip GO " for * .go extensions anywhere under /data02 by running the following command:

savefs -p -s /data02 -k " * .go "

Verify that the new NSR client, PSS file system backup save sets and skip files directive have been created by running the following command:

nsr_client -l

Verify that the new PSS file system backup save sets are correctly associated with the new NSR client by running the following command:

nsr_client -G ABC 123

The mminfo command can be used to query the NetWorker media database and to export the fields as comma separated fields. The -avot flag will list all volumes and export the fields as a comma separated list.

The client that initiated the directed recover is known as the source client. This client is responsible for sending the data to the destination client. The destination client is the one that will receive the data from the source client, and the administering client is the one that initiates the recover process. The NMC client is used for monitoring the recover process.

To allow members of a user group to create NetWorker clients, the Configure NetWorker privilege must be assigned to the user group.

The privilege that must be assigned to a user group to allow its members to create NetWorker clients is the " Configure NetWorker " privilege. This privilege allows a user to add, modify and delete clients, groups, and storage nodes, which is necessary for creating new NetWorker clients. The other privileges Monitor, Operate, and Remote Access All Clients, have different scopes, like monitoring the NetWorker system, operating the NetWorker system, or Remote access to all clients, respectively.

NetWorker uses Protection Groups to protect VMware objects, save sets, or clients. Protection Groups allow you to group related objects together, making it easier to manage and run backups.
