NoSQL Service does not provide data processing on OCI Lakehouse.  According to the Oracle website 5 , “Oracle Lakehouse provides extensive data processing capabilities, to accommodate the migration of existing architectures or the creation of new, agile ones. You can use Autonomous Database for SQL processing; Big Data Service for Hadoop/Spark processing; OCI Data Flow for serverless Spark processing; and OCI Data Integration for data movement.” NoSQL Service is a fully managed database service that provides fast and predictable performance for simple queries on flexible schemas.

Groups is an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Identity and Access Management (IAM) capability that helps you to organize multiple users into teams.  According to the Oracle documentation 4 , “Groups are collections of users who need the same type of access to a particular set of resources. You can use groups to organize users and apply policies to them as a group.”

Compartments are a feature that allows you to logically group and isolate your Oracle Cloud Infrastructure resources.  According to the Oracle documentation 2 , “Compartments are a fundamental component of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure that allow you to create a heterogeneous collection of resources for organization, security isolation, and access control. To learn more about compartments, see Managing Compartments . Organize your cloud resources in logically separate compartments, for the purposes of measuring usage and billing, controlling access, and isolating resources.”

OCI Data Flow is the Lakehouse service that you should use for serverless Spark processing. According to the Oracle documentation, “Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Flow is a fully managed big data service that lets you run Apache Spark applications with no infrastructure to deploy or manage. Data Flow lets you create, run, and manage Apache Spark applications with minimal coding and no infrastructure provisioning or management.”

These are two benefits that the partnership and interconnect between Oracle Cloud and Microsoft Azure provide.  According to the Oracle website 1 , the partnership enables the following benefits:

A secure intercloud connection that bypasses the public internet

High availability and reliability through redundant 10-Gbps physical connections

Predictable cross-cloud network performance

One time setup without the need for any intermediate network provider

Unified identity and access management platform that leads to cost savings

The unified identity and access management platform allows customers to use a single identity provider to access resources in both clouds, simplifying the authentication and authorization process.  The low latency is achieved by the direct interconnection between the two clouds, which provides less than two seconds of latency for superior multicloud network performance 2 .

 Rapidly developing, customizing, and delivering secure applications and developing responsive web apps are two main benefits of Oracle APEX.  According to the Oracle website 2 , “Oracle APEX is a low-code development platform that enables you to build scalable, secure enterprise apps with world-class features that can be deployed anywhere.” Additionally, according to the Oracle website 3 , “Oracle APEX enables developers to build modern, mobile-ready applications out of the box with minimal effort.”

This statement is true about moving VM DB systems from one compartment to another.  According to the Oracle documentation 3 , “To move resources between compartments, resource users must have sufficient access permissions on the compartment that the resource is being moved to, as well as the current compartment.” The documentation also provides a step-by-step guide on how to move a DB system to another compartment using the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.

Customers are responsible for managing databases and customer VMs when they are using the Exadata Cloud Service.  According to the Oracle documentation 7 , “Customers have full control over their databases running on Exadata Cloud Service, including root access for database servers.” Additionally, according to the Oracle documentation 8 , “Customers can create customer VMs on Exadata Cloud Service database servers for their own use.”
