StoreFront system requirements in the Citrix 2402 LTSR documentation specify that StoreFront can only be installed on supported modern Windows Server operating systems. As of the 2402 LTSR release, the minimum supported OS for StoreFront is Windows Server 2019.

Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2012 R2 are no longer supported for StoreFront in the 2402 LTSR lifecycle.

Windows Server 2022 is supported, but it is not the minimum requirement — Server 2019 is.

✔ An Application Fault refers to a failure that impacts functionality or causes loss of service or data.

Specifically, a fault indicates that the application:

Has experienced a significant failure

Cannot provide expected functionality

Has recorded an event indicating a serious problem

Needs administrative attention

This differs from:

Warnings (A) — non-critical issues that might lead to problems

Application unavailable (C) — a condition caused by machine/host failure

Probe failures (D) — failures detected through scheduled application probes and classified differently

Therefore, an Application Fault directly relates to loss of functionality or data, making B correct.

Application Probing is a monitoring feature in Citrix Director that automatically launches configured probes to test the availability and responsiveness of published applications.

Citrix added full support for application probing in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 2203 LTSR. Therefore:

2203 LTSR is the oldest LTSR that supports application probing

1912 LTSR and 7.15 LTSR → Do not support application probing

2402 LTSR → Supports probing, but it is newer, not the oldest

Thus, the earliest LTSR with application probe support is 2203 LTSR.

Citrix Gateway can be hosted in Citrix Cloud or in a customer-controlled resource location. It provides secure remote access to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service deployments.

According to the Citrix Printing Quick Start Guide1, Citrix recommends that you disable Direct connections to print servers if your Worker VMs and print servers are not in the same LAN. This is because in this situation the print job sent direct to the print server is not compressed. When the print job is routed via ICA it is compressed. This setting can be configured via Citrix policy under Printing > Client Printers > Direct connections to print servers2. Disabling this setting will allow users to print to both print servers via the ICA protocol. The other options are not relevant to the issue or the scenario.

The Machine Utilization report in the Machine Details page shows the CPU, memory, disk, and network usage of the selected machine over time1. This can help the Citrix Administrator identify any resource bottlenecks or spikes that may affect the performance of the applications launched from the published desktop session. The other reports do not provide information about the machine’s resource utilization, but rather about the user’s connection, session, and application launch failures2.

 If client drives are not mapped in a HDX session despite the ‘Auto connect client drives’ setting being configured, it could be due to the absence of loopback processing. Enabling loopback processing in the Group Policy Object (GPO) allows user-specific settings to be applied regardless of where the user object is located in Active Directory, ensuring that the policy is effectively applied to the published desktops.

 To enable Azure AD authentication for the Workspace Experience, the administrator needs to enable Azure AD authentication under Workspace Configuration in Citrix Cloud and add Azure AD Account under Identity Providers in Citrix Cloud. This allows users to authenticate using their Azure AD credentials to access their applications and desktops through the Workspace Experience. The Cloud Connectors are not directly involved in the Azure AD authentication process for Workspace Experience12.

The identity disk is a small disk attached to each virtual machine that stores the unique information for that machine, such as computer name, IP address, and Active Directory account. This disk is created when using Machine Creation Services with the Desktop Experience set to ‘Random’.1
